Today Sydney brought a Huhu grub to school. I got to look at it. It is soft and squishy and Slimey. Some people like the huhu grubs to eat. Yuck!

We have been swimming in our school pool for 6 weeks and boy does it show! We are so clever and have all become much more confident in the water. For the last few weeks we have been practising blowing bubbles (and not holding our nose), holding the flutter boards correctly with straight arms and kicking with long straight legs and also floating on our backs.
We are learning all about the numbers 0-20. We are learning to count forwards and backwards, order numbers, say the number before, after and between and write numerals 0-20.
One of our task board activities at reading time is called 'Read to self'. This is when we find a quiet place to sit with our browsing box and read quietly. This is great way to practice and enjoy our reading. Today we were all superstars at reading quietly to ourselves. Well Done Room 1!
Congratulations to Pippa, Maddi, Waiariki, Lucas, Cameron, Sydney and Bree for receiving Manuka Hub Certificates at Assembly on Friday. Fantastic work! Well done!
